What is LPWAN?
Low-Power Wide-Area Network
LPWAN (low-power wide-area network) is a class of wireless technologies — LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, LTE-M — built for long range and multi-year battery life.
LPWAN fills the gap between short-range radios like BLE and power-hungry cellular, connecting sensors across cities or campuses for years on a small primary battery (typically a Li-SOCl₂ AA or C cell with a buffer capacitor; coin cells suit only the lightest LoRaWAN duty cycles).
