What is BLE?
Bluetooth Low Energy
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is a short-range wireless protocol designed for very low power, widely used to connect battery-powered wearables and sensors.
BLE is the default when a product must talk to a smartphone and sip power. BLE 5 added longer range and higher throughput, and many BLE SoCs (e.g. nRF52840, EFR32MG24) also include an IEEE 802.15.4 radio for Thread, the low-power transport used by Matter; Matter itself uses BLE for commissioning.
